iPhone 3G has finally been unlocked

Six months after the release of the iPhone 3G, the iPhone Dev-Team has finally done the impossible — they’ve unlocked the iPhone 3G (though it hasnt been realeased  yet). The dev-team says the target release date for the unlock is New Year’s Eve 2008, and it will require that you’ve got a baseband of 2.11.07 or earlier. The team is packaging the app, codenamed “yellowsn0w”, into a user-friendly app (PwnageTool and QuickPwn).
